TTSH Art Exhibition: Pathways Home

It all started with a fellow artist’s suggestion to explore exhibiting our works at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. I was, of course, excited — it was a wonderful opportunity to showcase our art while serving a meaningful cause.

Our conversations with TTSH began in November 2024. The Iwanttogohome (IWGH) Fund deeply resonated with our theme of bringing a painting home. We hope that our contribution will help provide financial assistance to needy patients, enabling them to afford the services and equipment needed for timely discharge, and reducing the risk of re-admission. We also wish that those who choose to bring a painting home will share our joy of finding peace and healing through art.

Once the idea took shape, we submitted our proposal to the hospital. The response was encouraging, and soon, a flurry of discussions followed — about direction, accounting, logistics, and implementation. Everything happened in a whirlwind.

We started with just a few artists, but gradually more joined us. By the time we finalized our plans, there were eight of us in the team. Even then, more artists expressed interest, but we had to stop taking in new members as managing a larger group would have been too challenging.

The most demanding part was the administration and coordination involved. With everyone juggling busy schedules, many decisions had to be made through online polls — from the number of artworks per artist, to specifications, display formats, vendor sourcing, and accounting matters. Everything was new to us, but perhaps with a little bit of ladies’ luck, and a lot of teamwork, things went surprisingly smoothly.

It was a truly rewarding experience for all of us. Though it was tiring, the opportunity to help those in need, and at the same time connect with viewers, receive heartfelt feedback, and build camaraderie along the way made every effort worthwhile.

A heartfelt thank you to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and all the staff who supported us so tirelessly throughout the process. And to my fellow artists — thank you for your trust, support, and cooperation. Finally, sincere appreciation to our buyers, who not only supported our artistic journey but also contributed generously to a meaningful cause.

To everyone — until we meet again.
