Born in the shallows,

Now he is ready,
each breath a gathering of courage,
each shimmer a determined promise 

Unhurried and unafraid,
staring at the cool blue,
peering through the depths

Then - a sudden gleam,
a quick flash -
he takes to the air,
soaring
