How does one make tea?

Clean, fresh water –
Overflowing from the fountain springs of life,
Brimming joyfully

An assortment of tea leaves, in a handful
The aroma drifting in the air –
the sweetness of love and care,
the jasmine scent of hope,
and the lingering fragrance of age and experience

A balanced warmth,
fanned by the tender flames of passion
tempered by the cool porcelain of the teapot

A healthy dose of patience,
Slowly given –
Waiting

The ritual of tea –
sincerely, meticulously
hands steady, breath held,
both execution and adventure

And at last –
there it is
The perfect brew.
